If I Search....

If I ever need to search for someone then these lines sung by Strings say it:

Dhariyaon Ki Gehraiyon Mein Tujhe Dhoondha Hai
Aa Bhi Jaa Ek Baar
Mere Yaar Aise Na Looto Mere Mann Ka Karaar..

Ill leave no stone unturned if you are what I'm looking for. Till that time you can search for me...:-)

Brain-jammed...!!

Ever since work has started i think that the impulses which run to my brain are working overtime!! And when its the end of the day, my brain is jammed...as in no place to store new work for that day...:p You are just waiting to get off the office because one is completely saturated. And what better thing to enhance this brain jam at the end of the day when you see your senior's mail in the inbox!!!

Now, today thats exactly what happened to me. I was just leaving and I saw his mail.

The subject was
"rahul and tripti to be fixed on wed may 2nd"

I opened the mail and there was nothing written in the body of the mail. Now the most obvious thing, which struck me later was this would be scheduling for an interview..:p Now in this brain-jammed mode that really doesnt strike and least of all ,to me...but my brain runs in jet speed trying to overtake brain jams...

So i buzz him on intercom and tell him

Me: Rajesh, I think you have sent me the wrong mail
Senior: Huh???
Me: Ya i think you have forwarded someones marriage invitation or engagement invitation to me. Who Rahul? Who Trupti?? (just look at the subject words too...not my fault....;)..)
Senior: They are your candidates..and then he tells me their surnames and starts laughing.
Me: huh..huh...oh ya..oh ok....oh sorry...(as in all the words in the world I could mumble to hide my foolishness were uttered by me)

And then I hung up, sat calmly, thought that I just have to do something like this everytime, started laughing and left for the day. So I have decided not to do overtaking from now and I'm planning to install some kind of software in my brain which would just beep of in my mind everytime when I am about to do such great things:p Something with signals like "dumb dumb dumb" and "smart smart smart"!! And that especially cos my brain works on Slow Access Protocol (SAP) which makes me a certified SAP consultant...:D!!!

My CQ Hacked....!!!

This is to inform everyone that my Creative Quotient(CQ) has been hacked..:o!!! A very weird coincidence happened today!!

It was 7.00 a.m in the morning. The newspaper landed on my doorstep. And generally the first thing that I read is Bombay Times(which is the city supplement that comes along with Times of India here). And the pic which adorns today's supplement is the glimpse of " Kutting With Karan" which is a 4-episode special to be telecast on MTV tonight!!! And I was like so at last the tea idea too got hacked..:p!!
And the conicidence doesn't stop there..:p!!! I had always imagined that if at all I host a live show of Tea With Deeps ever it'll be a dhaba or a tapri backdrop and I'll give a tea kettle as a souvenir for each guest who comes on my show!!!
And lo behold what I see today in the pic is Cyrus Broacha giving a tea kettle to Karan Johar and it is a tapri backdrop..:o!!!

Now either me and the scriptwriter of this show are too much of the "like minds think alike" kinds or my CQ has been hacked...:o!!! Now I'll have to upgrade my CQ version...;)

Hey, but for once I can say I was original this time..:D!! What say...;)??????

Colour - Full or Colour - Fool???

Dumbness and me have to go hand in hand. So I don't think anyone is going to be surprised if I say that I have become a "colour fool" or should I say "colour full"!! I think I have reached the saturation point with respect to the colourful world around me..:p And the incidents of the past few days have been just reasserting this fact to me.

1) I had given clothes for ironing which I had to collect while returning from work. And it had been 3 days since I had given it, so I didnt even remember how many clothes I had given. I just remembered that it was a green salwar-kameez. So I went to the shop and then the dialogue went like :
He: colour kaunsa tha?
Me: green
He: hara na?
Me: Nahi green...peela..:o!!
He: Achcha peela rukiye...

And then after 5 mins of searching he tells me par madam green tho hara hota hai na...I think upon that and then it struck me and I'm like oh haan sorry...hara hara!! Felt so embarassed for making him search and also understood why literacy is important..it helps...especially when the opposite person is as colour-blank as me..:o!!

2) My building has been recently whitewashed and there's a lot of dust in the house because of this. I have been waiting for this whitewashing to get over. So now my building is like light cream in colour and previously it was grey. Ours was the first building to get whitewashed and so the rest of the bulidings are still grey. Yesterday while returning I came to my building, saw the colour, decided that this was not my buliding colour and went to the next building..:o If I couldn't notice this new colour...guess I'm on the last stages of colour blindness..:o

Now in this colourfull world around me I have still managed to become a colour fool!!! Its almost like a colour TV has become black and white..:( All dumb incidents have been happening around colours..:p

Moral of this post..
"Main aur mera tubelight dimaag aksar aise rangraliyan karte rehte hain!!!!"

Caller Tunes...

Well I have been having Orange connection with me for the past 4 months and I also know that caller tunes are available but laziness and procrastination made me download it only today...:p!! Now whenever I call up some candidate from work they have some or the other ringtone playing and that made me realise that these tunes have actually become that common!! So I thought that finally I should also jump into the caller tune bandwagon...but then the dilemma doesnt stop there, does it..:p!!!
The incredible question was as to which tune to choose... and you have this voice recording thing which detects what you are saying and goes forward. And then I was going through the song options...

1)Saiyan Dil mein Aana Re...decided against it cos in case if my granny calls...she'll faint..:p

2)Shikdum....From Dhoom...If my mom heard the first line of "Koi nahi hai kamre mein"...she would have got nightmares...:p

3) Agar Tum Mil Jaayo..from the latest release Zehar...thats a nice tune but that doesnt give the chill effect!!

So I finally decided on "Gela Gela" and now I'm feeling that me in the "caller tune" category..:D!! And the story doesnt end there...So I had to call this toll-free number and actually recite the whole stuff...So I was like first "Caller Tunes" and then I'm going on like " Bollywood songs..Bollywood songs."..shouted 3-4 times....its still playing the same recorded message. Then I realised that I had to tell "Bollywood hits":p!!! And thus the saga of suuceesful caller tune downloading ends..:D

So now since I have taken so much efforts it would be nice if you people give me missed calls and listen to my new tune..:D..:p!!! Its after all a tune for the caller!!!!

Eating we sat, sleeping we fell..!!!

Yesterday during lunch everyone in office suddenly felt like eating different food varieties. The reason for this being everyone was bored of the usual roti-sabzi thing. And all of us happen to be of different languages, so obviously the eatable varieties differ..:p
So today it started with me and I had taken tamarind rice which had turned out awesome, along with some paapad and home-made pickle. The entire office loved it and thankfully, I had taken quite a lot..so there was no shortage. Actually I should thank my granny for that cos shes really an expert...i just know to eat..:p Oh ya of course I carried it to the office too..:p So many people have asked me to get the recipe written tomorrow. Hopefully I shouldnt forget cos many of them want to try it at home over the weekend..:D!!!
Now each one is gonna get something this week and my turn is over today..:p From tomorrow I just have to eat and eat...:D

Tomorrow....menu is idli-sambhar and medu vada
Thurs....puran poli and aloo paratha
Fri....pav bhaaji and pulao
Sat..sandwiches and cutlets(cos its half day)

So its gonna be a freaking eating week..:D Oh ya and after that god knows what work happens..its just the post-lunch effect which is to doze off plus the weather too is horrible. And so "eating we sat and sleeping we fell"!!! Wow..what unity na....:D!!!!

Thank You, Mr.Wright!!!

The year 2000 - Indian cricket was in shambles . There were match-fixing allegations everywhere, lack of trust and what was visible was a divided and a morale-lost Indian team. What they needed was someone whom they could trust, someone who could have a vision to take this team ahead. And then came this 45-yr old(then) Kiwi, called John Wright, and from that time there has been no looking back.
Cricket is such a game that it is going to have its period of highs and lows. But then there have been significant achievements since this foreign coach took over. There was the series win over Australia, then the Natwest series and then the Pak one-day and Test series win and of course, who can forget, India reaching the World Cup finals which was really the icing on the cake. The players saw a philosopher, a guide , a mentor in Wright and what was achieved was sheer magic. The coach-captain combination went off well without friction and this resulted in positive vibes among the team members too. Credit has to be given to Ganguly-Wright team for whatever heights Indian cricket, off late has seen. And the famous World Cup huddle just showed the unity..India had become a force to reckon with in cricket.
Yesterday was his last game and a win would have been a befitting farewell for him but I gues, that was not meant to be. Indian cricket is again at crossroads yet again..what remains to be seen whether newer heights are reached or not....

But thank you, Mr.Wright for turning a bunch of boys into men and showing what team spirit is....the Indian team still crumbles under pressure but at least there is no fear and insecurity now..:-)

Tea With Deeps-3!!!

Welcome back to yet another episode of Tea With Deeps!!Today I have the dynamic combination of race along with grace with me. First of my guests is the undisputed champion of Formula One racing, Michael Schumacher and the second is the gorgeous Madhuri Dixit. Together they form a happening duo to have a chat with.

Dee: So Michael how does it feel to be India and that too just for a li'l chat and a li'l cup of tea??

Schumi: Phew....the traffic in Mumbai is like crazy and reaching this place for a chat was an achievement in itself!! I am gonna tell Ferrari people to devise a car on these roads...then i think i could win any Grand Prix!!

Mads:Hey..tats the speciality of "aamchi Mumbai"!! I used to consider traffic jams as a lucky omen whenever i used to go for a shoot because its a common funda in Bollywood that the leading woman keeps the leading man waiting..:D!And for starters you could drive "aapla" Sachin ka customised Ferrari and try it out!!

Dee:So Mads, how has the journey from the "Ek Do Teen" girl to the "Maar Daala" girl been?

Mads:Well, its been a pleasant journey, only thing being that my costumes kept getting heavier. In the former I wore a skimpy skirt whereas in the latter I had to wear a ghaghra which almost weighed equal to me!!

Schumi: Hey, try my costume and then mebbe you would stop complaining. And plus you could try wearing helmets too!! And by the way when you getting lighter again..;)!!

Dee: Schumi, how does it feel to be one of the richest sportspersons around?

Schumi: It does feel nice to be racing away to glory and earn a million dollars for it!!

Mads: Well, I don't need to put myself through this much trouble at all. Anyways I have the advantage of having a "million dollar" smile and so I'm smiling all the way to glory!!

Dee:So Mads, which one of your songs would you like to sing for Schumi??

Mads: As everyone knows, in Hindi, shoemaker is called "mochi"...so I would like to sing...

Oh Car Ke Driver....
Tum Dikhlao Na Yoon Tevar...
Jhoote De Do...
Paise Le Lo....

Schumi: Hey that was a very nice tune...Could you translate that in German??!!

Dee: Well, as a parting shot, one word that you would describe each other as??

Schumi: well shes "dummkopf " (neways she calls herself Mad!!)

Mads: Well hes "yeda"

Contests:-

1) How many teeth does Mads have that she smiles so well?

2) Which tyres would Schumi use for his car on Mumbai roads?

Prizes:-

Win a chance to eat "kande pohe" with Mads.
And get a chance to drive with Schumi from Andheri to Powai.

Till the next time...this is Deeps signing off!!!

Friend..

This is one of the nice fwds that i found in my inbox today..:-) Just liked the flow of words.

I AM NOT YOUR FRIEND IF....
you have to think before you speak to me.
I AM NOT YOUR FRIEND IF.....
my presence ever makes you feel uncomfortable.
I AM NOT YOUR FRIEND IF.....
you have to thank me for everything i do for you.
I AM NOT YOUR FRIEND IF....
you have to say sorry for everything that you don't do.
I AM NOT YOUR FRIEND IF.....
you have to ask me for favours.
I AM NOT YOUR FRIEND IF.....
you think i would not be curious to know your new philosophy of life.
I AM NOT YOUR FRIEND IF.....
you go by what i say and do not understand what i don't say.
I AM NOT YOUR FRIEND IF.....
you think that listening to your dreams would put me to sleep.
I AM NOT YOUR FRIEND IF.....
you think that seeing you in pain, would not bring a tear to me.
I AM NOT YOUR FRIEND IF.....
you think I do not remember the first time we met.
I AM NOT YOUR FRIEND IF.....
you don't see the thousand ways I try to make you happy.
I AM NOT YOUR FRIEND IF.....
you don't realise how your smile brightens up my day.
I AM NOT YOUR FRIEND IF.....
you would rather keep quiet when you really wanna talk.
I AM NOT YOUR FRIEND IF.....
you hesitate to ask me to stay back when you think we should be together.

Happy New Year..!!!

Well, to begin with its the Tamil New Year today plus thers the Visu for Malayalis and then thers Baisakhi too...so a very Happy New Year to all of you out there...:-)
Its been just another day for me but such days just make me feel joyous and a little traditional as in pray with peace and have all the delicacies made at home...:D!! Actually a lot of things like vadaas, sambhar, vepambu rasam( i don't know what they call that in English but its a lil bitter), maanga pachdi(sweet delicacy of mango) and payasam(kheer)!! Now the whole funda of this is supposed to be that one should have spicy, bitter and sweets....i mean a combination of all tastes cos life is also like tat!! Everything should be taken in the same spirit..:-) Anyways i just focus on the eating part...life neways teaches you through experiences..dont need to eat bitter things for that..;)

On the job front, well HR was not a field that I had thought I would get to explore, allbeit for a short period. But the past 15 days of this job has taught me a lot in its own way. I am handling a lotta assignments now and my first assignment has reached the interview stage for tomorrow. I had shortlisted 6 candidates our of which 4 profiles are going in for an interview tomorrow and Im really happy. Just gives the unusual sense of achievement that they are "my" candidates and a part of me is hoping well for them and this is is with a very big MNC. So im keeping my fingers crossed...:-)

Thats it...adios till my next post..:D!!

  • Its natural to notice that the colour of my blog is pink.
  • Its natural to feel the climate hot because its summer.
  • Its natural to feel tired after a hectic day.
  • Its natural to observe that my blog has a shoutbox.
  • Its natural to think that I have nothin senible to write in this post.
  • Its natural for people to think that I have gone nuts.
  • Its natural for people not to feel like commenting on this post.
  • Oh wait....or mebbe its natural for people to feel like commenting on this post..;)

In short, just do what comes to you "naturally". Don't try to be artificial cos at the end of the day it really doesn't count!! Jus be natural...be what you are!!

Expectation = Expect + Station

Expectations are something which we all have in our lives with respect to someone or something in our own extents. Though we know that "expectations lead to disappointments" and they should be in a controlled manner but each of us in our own unique manners do expect something or the other.

I was imagining a hypothetical railway station and was trying to relate expectations to a station!!! And if I tend to go abstract at a certain point in the post then do bear with me..:p!!

Now here the passenger is the mind.

Before going to book a ticket he sincerely hopes that he gets a confirmed ticket. But then it can turn out that hes in the waiting list or RAC. So either he'll have to look for another train to reach the same destination or think of travelling on another date. Expecting to get a confirmed ticket is a hope or a positive attitude. But thinking about the other possible outcomes is not negative attitude, its just thinking practically.

The guard is destiny.

Irrespective of whichever class a passenger is travelling in, AC or non-AC, reserved or unreserved, it requires the guard to wave the green flag for the train to move. Inspite of having all the requisites for a proper journey there can be chances that the train may be delayed due to whatever reasons. And finally the guard does play an important rule in the final stages....or simply you could term it as last-minute luck.

And then there are the umpteen weighing machines in this station to remind you that never be weighed down by expectations. Expectations are always gonna be there in some form or the other, all that matters is giving one's best shot.

Like i said expect anything in this station...;)

Lamhe.....

Inhe apni mutti mein sametkar dekhiye
ya phir inhe halkasa chookar dekhiye
Inhe ghinkar dekhiye ya phir
Inhe mahsoos karke dekhiye.....

Har ghadi kisika intezaar karke dekhiye
Woh saath ke palon ko khaid karke dekhiye....
Yaadon ke safar mein jaake dekhiye
Thoda wahan pe theharke dekhiye...

Aage ke safar mein inhe apna
aasra banake dekhiye
Kuch nahi ho to
kam se kam inhe apne aaj ka
astitva banake dekhiye......

Harsh Reality...

I was returning from work today and generally I walk down to my place while coming back. Theres a small bridge which comes in between and beneath ir runs a sewage. I see a crowd of people there and also 2 police jeeps there. There are sum slums down the street but not on the main road. So i thought that either a brawl had taken place or sum1 had comitted suicide.
No..it was worse than that...a 7-day old baby had been tied in a sack vith limbs cut and thrown into the sewage. I saw the sack...stood rooted there for 1 min and continued my walk. I saw the sack but i dont think i cud av mustered the courage 2 see inside.

What do you call such parents?
What do u call such an act?
Is poverty a justification for everything?
Where are we heading?

It shatters me to even think about such a thing. For a moment fury besieged me but then what....after all reality bites.

What to do???

What to do in a crushed rush..
What to do when you feel your adrenaline rush...

What to do when your heart skips a beat...
What to do when you feel you are dead meat...

What to do when your head spins round...
What to do when you get a sleep not so sound...

What to do when people think of you as a clown...
What to do when you cannot even frown....

What to do for such a lot of things....
What to do?? What to do??
