Tea With Deeps-4!!!

Welcome to yet another "paarivarik" episode of Tea With Deeps!! Today I have with me the father-son duo of Vilasrao and Ritesh Deshmukh, the former having done major in acting and minor in politics and the latter having done major in politics and minor in acting!!

Dee: So Mr.Deshmukh, how does your second stint in power as CM of Maharashtra feel?

VD: Well, I feel like my "alliance" partners decided not to divorce me and stuck to me even after the probation period got over. And anyways Pawar has all the Power in Maharashtra.

RD: Oh yeah, just like Aftab has stuck with me...He's been my partner in "Masti"!!

Dee: So Ritesh you have started spelling your name differently with an extra 'i' (Riteish)..so no name change suggestions for Dad?

RD: Ya, I have been telling him to change it to Velasrao Deshmukh!!

VD: Thats real nice actually...I'll be known as CVM(Chief Vela Minister) instead of CM!!

Dee: So Mr.CM..Mumbai as the next Shanghai....how do you explain your vision?

VD: Well, I have long-sightedness and I also have a lotta "power" in my eyes and so a better vision..."Ab Shanghai Door Nahin...Kyunki Dilli Apne Paas Hai"!!

RD: A lotta Chinese films should also be encouraged....Look at the Stanley Tong - Mallika Sherawat - Jackie Chan combination!!!

Dee: So Riteish, are you the partying kinds?

RD: Well I do a lot of "Naach" and "Masti" and I go completely "Out Of Control" and I don't get into any "Jurm" and thats why I can say "Kya Kool Hain Hum"!!

VD: Actually all dance bars are banned in Maharashtra...so no bargirls...so I am encouraging him to do a lot of "Naach"!! But Mumbaikars , with this weather have to say "Kya Hot Hain Hum"!!

Dee: As a parting shot, any song?

VD: Im a true Congress "karyakarta"...so I would just like to sing...

Dekha Tumko Jab Se..

Bas Dekha Tumko Yaara..

Tumse Koi Achcha Hai Na Tumse Koi Pyaara ...

Keh Do Na , Keh Do Na...

"I am Yours Sonia"!!

Contests:

1) How many films will Riteish act in his entire film career?

2) How much is Vilasrao's total property?

Prizes:

Win a visit to the CVM house and hear a seminar from him on "political acting"

RD will open a RD for you in a bank of your choice!!

Till then folks, this is Deeps signing off!!!

"Train"ed ways.....

Local train travelling, I could say is one of the most-used ways of travelling for people in Mumbai, especially officegoers and the college crowd. I have been using this mode of transport, albeit only for two months now and that too just a one station travel which is almost like a hop-skip-jump kinda thing. But what amazes me are the various nakhras that each person has while travelling by train...:p Honestly, I feel they have just come from the circus and the way they fly from one compartment to another, they almost resemble trapeze artistes. Ladies, of all ages, fight for the specific window seats and also catch places for people who are going to climb in the coming stations....I mean I was completely speechless when I saw this and remembered my school days in which I used to catch seats for my friends in the school bus...:p The intellectual conversations which the local train ladies have are also so amazing that within a span of say 5 stations they cover a diverse set of topics from children to sarees to maidservants to nailpoilshes to god knows what not!!! I sometimes wonder if they ever get bored talkin!!
But the most scary thing I feel is pregnant ladies standing on the footboard .....I get tense seeing them fearing that what if they fall because they almost stand on the edge!! Today was the heights because a pregnant lady was filing her nails standing at the door of the compartment all the way...I told her to stand aside but she paid no heed to me and just told me..."nahin...mujhe aadat hai....phikar mat karo"...I was almost like :o!!!
Guess I'm just getting used to madness called travelling by locals in Mumbai....must say my "train"ing period has been fruitful, to say the least..:p!!!

Passing the Tag Chain...:p

Okie I got tagged by Saurabh and have to answer some questions and pass on the tradition of tagging people..:p...so here goes....

1. Total number of films I own on dvd/video : Not much...so I gotta say pretty less.

2. The last film I bought : Hmmm...It was "My Best Friend's Wedding"..actually was a gift for a friend.

3. The last film I watched: On TV: 'Chalte Chalte'....watching it cos I had almost forgotten some scenes..so kinda refreshing my filmi memory..:p

In theater: 'Hitch'....Luvd the movie...very light and the fat guy was amazin!!!

4. Five films that I watch a lot or that mean a lot to me:-
-'Dilwale Dulhania Le Jaayenge':- My first brush with the dreamy kinda romance and with the funda of "true love exists". And of course, my SRK liking began from this movie!!
-'A Walk In The Clouds':- Keanu was cute..the story was sweet!! A heartfelt love story and I liked the way it was picturised.
-'Haseena Maan Jaayegi/Hera Pheri': I guess anytime I wanna laugh, I end up watching either of these comedies.
-'Nayakan'(Tamil) : I consider this as Kamal Hasan's best performance till date. Everything about this picture was flawless and the performances were brilliant. Its a serious movie but still I must have watched this movie quite a number of times.
- 'Jerry Maguire' : Movie with a concept and also had something to learn from it.

5: Tag five people and have them put this in their journal: Ok I guess after that this is the fun part..:p...ok they wud be....arul,srini,anubhav,shub and hemanshu. Keep the tag chain goin....:p...:D!!!

Interview Blues.....

A slight nervousness before an interview, especially when you know that the marks are going to be counted has always been there for me. Though I was confident about the GD and PI part, I wanted to get an idea as to what I was thinking was right or not. So to add to the interview blues, I wore a navy blue trousers and I smsed a friend to choose the colour of the top, pink or white as in I was utterly confused..:p So I decided to calm down and focus a bit..which worked wonders actually.
The GD went off pretty well and I was able to have my voice heard..:p Nice crowd in the GD too which was like an added advantage!!! Then was the PI which was pretty normal and I answered all the usual questions well but then comes what I call the grand finale. The panelists were actually sitting on a dais, which is the same place where I also had to sit and when i got up saying " thank you"...I completely forgot about it and dhadaaam I went again, which I think would be for the nth time in the past few months and fell down and dashed against the bench. Then actually nothing...same old ram kahaani...me getting bruised, kind professor gave me water, and then seeing how enthusiastically I got up...the panelists started laughing...:p!!!

Thank you everyone for your wishes..really meant a lot...:-)

Health and weather issues....

Health issues have been giving me trouble of late and the unbearable heat of Mumbai is not helping me any further. I can barely hear my voice now and that too when I absolutely need my voice heard tomorrow. Hoping for a better day ahead.

Hoping that I could carry some of your best wishes along...:-) Thank you.

DDLJ - The Movie - The Magic!!

"Movies and magic"..rare combination actually!!! But Dilwale Duulhaniya Le Jaayenge (DDLJ) still continues to create ripples in box-office history. The superlative success of this film has been its simple story which has touched one and all.
Year 1995...Diwali time then....Yash Chopa banner...Aditya Chopra's debut....the unkempt Shahrukh....the non-glam Kajol...melodious Jatin-Lalit music all combined together to form a sure-shot boxoffice hit!!! The UK-Punjab love story keeps you rivetted in your seat throughout til date. But what also stood out was the acting of the supporting cast in the movie which by no means, can be neglected. Amrish Puri, Farida Jalal, Anupam Kher were all amazing and each and every character can be related to.
The names of the main characters, Raj and Simran, almost became household names. There was awesome chemistry between the lead pair and to date, I consider them to be the best onscreen pair!!
I have seen the movie almost 50 times now...so I almost have the dialogues memorised by now...:p!!

My favourite scenes in the movie:

1) Kajol asking permission from her dad for the Europe tour.

2) SRK and Amrish Puri feeding the pigeons together.

3) SRK telling Anupam Kher about his failing in the law exams.

4) SRK asking Kajol as to how come she's not seen the person whom she was gonna be married to.

5) Kajol's mom telling her to run away with SRK and how SRK convinces otherwise.

I guess I'm almost writing a movie review 10 years down the lane...:p!!! Anyways, better late than never...;)

You.....

The word "you" holds within itself a great deal of interest and manifests itself into various forms like:

You hold within yourself a reservoir of untapped potential.

You have the courage to stand up to what you believe in.

You are an interesting jigsaw puzzle with a lot of pieces.

You are a rainbow filled with various shades.

You are a traveller in the untrodden paths that lie ahead.

You are an autobiography written by experiences.

You were the past, you are the present and you will be the future.

Ultimately, the power lies within "you". Recognise it!! And last but not the least, you are an avid reader of this blog...:p!!!!!

Undue advantage......

People out there act like vultures waiting to pounce on their prey...
Its a mean world out there.....
Its a world which is selfish to the core...
Its a world which wants to achieve something at any costs...

People out there want to cross my path just like black cats....
I advised, i warned, i even ignored....
I guess the world around you turns deaf...
Being nice to some people really doesnt pay at the end of the day....

Tomorrow is the day for what I call the "firebrand" revival.....
Its time to stand up, its time to pay back.....
Lines are drawn....
Its showdown.....

Happy Mothers Day........

Dear Mom,

I don't know how much time I hardly take to think or say how much you mean to me. But today it is your day and I wanted to wish you "Happy Mothers Day". Ever since I remember your only thoughts, directly or indirectly has been for me to be happy, for providing me with everything that I need and to just make sure I am alright. Little did I understand then how much have I imbibed from you just by watching you. Things like managing work and home efficiently, patience at the right times, silence at the right times are all qualities that I have watched you and learnt. You are the one who had taught me that thers always more pleasure in giving than receiving. Though everyone around have constantly labeled me as "Dad's photocopy" because of his height, he being an extrovert etc...but I know certain things which keep me grounded are the things that I have learnt from you. My irritations, my frustrations, my failures...you have braved them all and I have seen how much you have gone through in each and evry stage with sheer will power. In a few years, I dont know where I'll be but be rest assured that I'll be there for you whenver, wherever and however. Today I'm proud to be known as your daugther and I'm also waiting for the day when you'll be known as my mom and that day I'll show you this post of mine......

Lots of luv,
Deepa

Happy Mother's day to all the mothers in the world. Not many of us really appreciate what you do but believe me, each and every one of us at the end of the day wants to....

Thoughts.....

A thought...a wave or ripple created in the mind. Some impulse that fathoms the depths of a certain thing or is highly superficial. Thoughts keep flowing in my mind...day in day out. Some are registered, some are not registered. Some are expressed, some are not...though freedom to express one's thoughts is something which i highly believe in and I have never failed to do so too. But still there are certain thoughts that are best left unexpressed.

I remember reading it in Saurabh's post sometime before which was very aptly said.....just one thought continues....many thoughts just wander away!!!

Ten random thoughts that I have had the past 2 days:

1) Swindling the cyber's PC home..:p (A msg 4 sum1: Btw me planning to transport my PC soon;))
2) Fighting a panja with someone
3) Going off to Himalayas
4) Which caller tune should I put next
5) Getting a designer outfit
6) Meeting SRK
7) Trying ThumsUp with vanilla icecream
8) Writing with left hand
9) Learning palmistry
10) Closing this blog

All these are in the processing stage now. Don't know which one will continue.....

Paheli.....

Door Kshitij Pe Khada Hua...
Ek Dhundli Si Tasveer Hai Tu...
Mujhe Dhoondte Hue Un Annkhon Mein Hazaar Sawaal Liye....
Ek Paheli Hai Tu.....

Door Se Paas Aakar Baiththe Hue....
Ek Anjaana Sa Nasha Hai Tu.....
Mujhse Kehne Ke Liye Un Hoton Pe Hazaar Shabdon Ke Bhanwar Liye...
Ek Paheli Hai Tu....

Door Se Tere Naa Hokar Bhi Hone Ka....
Ek Meetha Sa Aabhaas Hai Tu....
Mere Paas Aate Un Kadmon Ki Aahat Ko Rok Lene Ke Liye...
Ek Paheli Hai Tu......
