Yes, my friends that's how I would exactly describe Shahrukh Khan's existence in Bollywood. The badshaah of Bollywood is now on the threshold of being bestowed with the prestigious PadmaShri award for his repertoire of work!!!
For years SRK's face has lighted the screens and captured the hearts of many. There is a sense of SRK as a person which appeals to me along with SRK as an actor. Yes, I dont know him personally, yes..i have not met him.. so it can be argued that what he portrays as a character in reel life appeals to me and not he as a person . But still i do feel that he is a very intelligent and mature person, a doting father to his kids, religious minded and a hearthrob of many. These qualities give him the respect which he so truly deserves.
His film career growth speaks for itself. And with his latest film Swades..he has finally embarked on his journey as an actor and not a star which is very different from his regular image of the mushy romantic Bollywood icon.
Popularity is a double-edged sword. It brings along with itself an equal amount of detractors too. So everyone can have his/her opinion about SRK. But has anyone really sat down to think what exactly makes him tick?? Sustaining the top position in any field for such a long time isn't easy. There is a lot of hard work which goes into any field and entertainment is no different from any other field. What SRK exudes on screen is sheer confidence and energy. His intense eyes and cute dimples are a deadly combination!!! Its not easy to reach such a commanding position in life without having the urge to excel.
Like it or dont like it...SRK sells both in India and overseas. Not many have this advantage of films running just on their names. Well, in his case he also has talent to match this.
So three cheers ro SRK for his adorable dimples, his unsurpassed energy, his unique style, his indomitable spirit, his zest for life and his mighty reign. Ill be back with his career graph and my favourite picks sometime soon..:-)!!!
