My Very First Poem...

I was cleaning my comp and was deleting the unwanted files when suddenly I came across this first poem of mine which I had written 3 years ago. I didn't even remember that I had stored it in my comp in the first place. For my first attempt to write a poem, for its rawness, for its simplicity(cos it doesnt even sound like a poem, its like a narration)..this piece of writing will always remain special to me....

A bright new day begins
The sun rays shine through my window
I awaken with a glow on my face
Its time for me fit into the day's pace.

Hustling and bustling
I rush off to college
With the feeling that
"Its a long day ahead"
which is a big disadvantage.

As the clock strikes noon
its a desire to move on
With the rest of the day's chores behind
the glow on my face still remains ahead.

As evening arose
a cool wind breezed through my hair
Almost giving me an indication that someone's there
and the glow on my face just ascertained that fact

As bedtime neared
and i put away all my fears
I look back upon my day
in a rather interesting way
One thing that remains mysterious
is the glow which gave my face a different view
but the answer was quite simple
because i was thinkin about u....

United In Music...

"United In Music"- yes, thats the name of the new website Blogswara started by a talented musical set of bloggers. I happened to go through this site yesterday and believe me, the efforts are really commendable. It consists of Hindi, Tamil and Malayalam downloadable songs along with their lyrics. A must-visit website for all ya music fans. As of now, Im hooked on tot his site and being a music buff myself, the least that I could do is to make people aware of this so that everyone is united in music:) Enjoy!!

Phir Kya Khoya, Kya Paaya??

Doosron Mein Khudh ko Khokar
Maine "Main" Ko Paaya
Kitne Haseen Palon Ko Milakar
Bana Yeh Jeevan Ka Saaya

Doosron Mein Khudh Ko Paakar
Maine Unhe "Unhi" Ke Tarah Paaya
Kitne Haseen Yaadon Ko Sanjokar
Bana Yeh Bhi Jeevan Ka Saaya

Bhuli Bhisri Yaadein - 3

Tinkle, Champak, Chandamama, Gokulam, Archies comics...Do any of these names ring a bell??? They formed a regular part of my childhood days. First of all, the almost real-life like colourful cartoons depicted the story so beautifully that I could mostly visualize the story happening in front of me. Supandi was my favourite in Tinkle...that character always made me roll on the floor with laughter and his dumbness never seemed to deter him from doing something he did best...ie goofup. Then there were Akbar-Birbal stories, Vikram-Betal etc and one never knew how time passed. If it were vacation times, then there used to be Tinkle Double Digest (one on one free kinds) and Archies Double Digest. My friends and me actually used to fight for the latest issue of Archies..poor fella always caught between Betty and Veronica with Jughead for company. Your heart always went out for him. My house always used to be scattered with such comics and story books and it was always a mini lending library. Where are all these comics now? Do you hear anyone demanding for them or reading them? Now its vacation time...theres a computer game lending library and a Sify iway near my place. The queues are long, kids get a thrill in playing race games or shooting enemies and moving to next level. Technological advancement, tremendous exposure all has come at the cost of something and so we pay the price. Libraries are reducing because they don't have a kid reader base. With the increasing power cuts in Mumbai, I'm sure reading habit can be inculcated if one wants to..the importance of which one will understand when one grows up. And this makes my resolve more determined that for sure ill open a lending library at some point in my life and thatll be soon. So comic along if you can:)

Yaadein...Woh Yaadein.

Bhool Jaa...

In ansoonon se kisko kya hua hansil
Mana kehna hai asan nibhana hai mushkil
Phir bhi ae yaar mere
Sunle meri intezaaa

Bhool ja Jo hua use bhool ja hai kasam tujhe muskura
khud ko na de yun saza un yadon ko bhool ja

Wo to nahin tha teri wafon ke kabhil
Jane kya soch kar tune de diya apna dil
Is baar dil ka sauda karna na yun bewajhah

Bhool ja Jo hua use bhool ja hai kasam tujhe muskura
khud ko na de yun saza un yadon ko bhool ja

Teri zindagi teri hai kisi ki amant nahin
Jab chahe tod de aese ek imarat nahin
Is baar dil ka sauda karna na yun bewahja

Bhool ja Jo hua use bhool ja
hai kasam tujhe muskura
khud ko na de yun saza
un yadon ko bhool ja

Sometimes all I want is amnesia...

Hard Of Thinking...???

Well i suffer from "hard of thinking" syndrome quite a bit and that too especially on Sundays. I like things being said to me clearly on holidays cos my brain's on a strike then as I have mentioned quite a few times before. Quite a few confusions happened today or one can call it dumbness in layman terms:p

1) First what happened was brand confusion. I knew John Abraham is launching his collection of mens' jeans along with Wrangler but the name has not been announced as yet. And Hrithik Roshan is apparently the ambassador of a foreign brand of shirts launching in India called as John Players. So my friend and me were discussing in the morning about this and the conversation went like:
Friend: Yaar, yeh Hrithik kya kar raha hai..Hide and seek ko tho promote kar hi raha hai aur John ko bhi and both ads look similar...
Me: Now definitely I knew that "Hide and Seek" are biscuits but I was wondering what was John cos I had not seen the shirt ad. So I said again..lekin john ko promote karneka kya fayda..woh tho promoted hai...
Friend: John ko promote karna padega na...foreign se aa raha hai na isliye..not locally manufactured.
Me: But John tho Indian origin ka hai....(I started to get confused by this time) And I said...lekin John tho khudh ka brand khudh promote karega na..
Friend: Khud hi tho kar rahe hain ambassador ke through...Hrithik aur shirts..thik hai na
Me: Shirts kab se legs se pehanne lage...
(Then there was momentary silence)
And then the whole matter was clarified...

2) Then I sat to watch TV...I was watching the news channel CNN-IBN. So in the ads they flashed that the next programme was going to be "The next Buddha". So I thought that this was an interesting title...and thought that maybe some excavation had taken place of some Buddha statues somewhere or some sadhu is claiming that he is the next avataar of Buddha. I waited patiently for the next 20 mins and lo behold what did it turn out to be...it was the West Bengal election coverage and it was the interview of the Chief Minister "Buddha"deb Bhattacharya!!:o I was like the program should have been named "The Next Budda"!!

3) Then the third confusion happened when my granny and my mom were talkin about some long-lost relative and the gossip they had heard. I happened to walk in the room and they were speaking about is a 65-yr old lady. So my granny was tellin "Ya ya she is carrying"...my mom was like "itna heavy"...i was like :o whats happening? hows this possible...then my granny completes the sentence.."ya she was carrying the heavy suitcase at this age"!!

So too many confusions and now hopefully thats all thats gonna be there for today:p!!! but i hardly think about all this;)

The Letter 'A'...

An interesting tag from s!'s blog.. this is how it works.. in your comment to this post, ask for a letter, which i will give you as a reply to your comment. then write ten words beginning with that letter, and explain the story or meaning or relevance of those words to you.. then pass out some letters too! s! gave me 'A'..

1) Attire: A proper dressing sense is a major turn on for me. Its not about brands or non-brands but its more about the basic colour combination sense and knowing what suits you and what does not. Attire also speaks somethng about you...

2) Attitude,Aptitude and Altitude: Its common to combine 3 A's into one like "Amar Akbar Anthony":p But this is the exact order to combine these 3 'A' words, with the right attitude, and with the exact aptitude, one can gain the needed altitude.

3) Apology: Till my 8th std, I found it very difficult to say "sorry", I had the impression that its human to make errors, so what if I made some of them and did not apologise. But thanks to my mom who gave me a blasting one day, that I learnt to apologise if I have done a msitake. It makes matters easy, one doesnt become less in whatever manner by apologising..

4) Application: As a computer engineer, I like to experiment on all sorts of new software and apply my inquisitive skills and ask for "help" each time I dont' get something. Studying theory is one thing but being able to map it and apply it to practicality is another thing altogether.

5) Ambition: Its the drive that motivates me to do what I am doing with dedication. Goals, both short-term and long-term help me achieve my ambitions.

6) Arts: I am a creative person my nature. I like music, dance, theatre, writing, paintings etc. and I have tried my hand in all of them. Being able to appreciate anyone who is artistic with no qualms is the most critical aspect in arts.

7) Appreciation: People want appreciation but will never appreciate others easily. I really don't understand this behaviour at all. If someone has done good been means he/ she has done good, if someone deserves praise means he/ she does and similarly for criticism also. Deserved appreciation also makes a person feel wanted.

8) Approach: By this I mean approach to life , or approach to any little thing we do...how sincere it is. A positive approach is more than half the battle won.

9) Alteration: "to alter" means "to change". All of us change as we grow up but how we adapt to the change is in our hands.

10) Amnesia and Abduction: Now this is weird because I always feel that what if I am abducted and I also get the "main kahaan hoon" syndrome of Hindi movies and suffer from amnesia due to being struck with something, then what I'll do???:p How will I call someone???:p

Hope that was sensible enough:p So ask for letters soon...me ready to give em!!

Newton's Laws of Software...

Really hilarious mail that I got today:p

Law 1: Every Software Engineer continues his state of chatting or forwarding mails unless he is assigned work by manager.

Law 2: The rate of change in the software is directly proportional to the payment received from client and takes place at the quick rate as when deadline force is applied.

Law 3: For every Use Case Manifestation there is an equal but opposite Software Implementation.

Law 4: Bugs can neither be created nor be removed from software by a developer. It can only be converted from one form to another. The total number of bugs in the software always remains constant.

For those who are software engineers, will really agree to these laws;)

Life Path Number...

Your Life Path Number is 3

Your purpose in life is to express your unique self.

You are a creative and artistic person with an interesting view on life.
Witty and outgoing, you enjoy sharing your crazy ideas with anyone who will listen.
A total social butterfly, you're the life of any party.

In love, you inspire and enchant your partner. You are often an object of fantasy and desire.

While you are very talented, you sometimes lack the ambition to put your talents in play.
And while your wit carries you a long way, you occasionally use it to mask your true feelings.
Your natural abilities can bring you all the success in the world ... if you let them

Little Things...

Read this poem and I liked it....

Too often we don't realize
what we have until it is gone;
Too often we wait too late to say
"I'm sorry - I was wrong."
Sometimes it seems we hurt the ones
we hold dearest to our hearts;
And we allow foolish things
to tear our lives apart.

Far too many times we let
unimportant things into our minds;
And then it's usually too late
to see what made us blind.

So be sure that you let people know
how much they mean to you;
Take that time to say the words
before your time is through.

Be sure that you appreciate
everything you've got
And be thankful for the
Little things in life
that mean a lot....

Chand Sifarish...

The movie that I'm waiting for..Fanaa. As of now I have listened to two songs, Chand Sifarish and Des Rangila and I'm liking it. This album also marks the last jugalbandi of Jatin and Lalit as music directors. They have definitely given some good songs together which cannot be forgotten. Of course, it also marks the comeback of Kajol after 5 yrs and I have liked the pastel colours that she's worn in the film. More on this film after watching it on May 27th.

Bhuli Bhisri Yaadein - 2

Fluttering in the air, adorning the hair, available in various colours, ribbons always used to form a part of every schoolgirl's attire. Every school had ribbons according t uniforms or the house to which one belonged to. I always used to like ribbons as I used to like to "match" my ribbons to my attire. It also served as the puppy love matchmaker for me back then when a guy in my building found that damn cute and used to love to irritate me untying the ribbon or tying both my plaits together which used to irritate me. My granny used to stitch frocks for me in childhood and with the remaining bits of cloth, used to make ribbons for me so that then even the design would be same and it would look proper "matching" matching. Nowadays I hardly see plaits on schoolgirls, let alone ribbons. All I see are mushroom cuts or Garnier or L'Oreal colored hair and perms and irons and what not. There must be still some schools insisting on ribbons but on the whole there's been a noticeable decline and guess its become more restricted to villages now. I miss this piece of adornment which brought out the lesson of being stylishly simple in such a sweet manner....

Yaadein, Woh Yaadein...

Parivartan...

Kalpanayon Ki Gehraiyon Se
Umad Rahi Ek Soch Hai
Soch Ka Haqeeqat Banna Ya Na Banna
Ek Parivartan Hai

Dil Ki Gehraiyon Se
Umad Rahi Ek Abhilasha Hai
Abhilasha Ka Poora Hona Ya Na Hona
Ek Parivartan Hai

Soch Hi Parivartan Ka Bheej Hai...
Parivartan Hi Soch Ka Bheej Hai...
Isi Mein Hamein Panapna Hai...
Yehi Parivartan Ka Siddhanth Hai...
